The Role
As a Senior Building Systems Consultant, you'll be a crucial part of our built environment consultancy activities. You'll work on diverse projects, including:
Conducting component and equipment condition assessments.
Leading failure investigations and providing expert technical advice to building/facility owners, insurers, and loss adjustors.
Preparing detailed technical reports based on lab investigations and in-house engineering analysis.
Reviewing technical documentation and standards associated with building systems.
Engaging with clients through presentations and meetings to drive project success.
Your role will involve some UK and international travel to client sites, where you'll assess equipment and provide on-the-spot insights.
Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for candidates with:
A degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent on-the-job experience. A higher degree (PhD or equivalent) is a plus.
Deep expertise in one or more building systems:
o Air handling/ventilation systems
o Electrical systems including cabling, power systems, lighting, UPS, switchgear
o BMS/SCADA
o Water systems including fire systems, heating systems, chillers, pumps, and pipework
Experience in equipment failure investigations and knowledge of operational, maintenance, and commissioning activities.
Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
A reasonable level of physical fitness for site visits.
A full UK driving licence is preferred.
