Our client is an Experiential Marketing Agency seeking a strong Senior Account Manager with a proven track record of working for an experiential agency delivering large scale live events.
Project Management:
- 4+ years’ experience managing experiential and sampling campaigns, including ambient, chilled, and frozen products, as well as Road Shows, Tours, and Sampling Events.
- 3+ years of managing event and experiential event creative and production processes.
- Experience in completing daily and weekly reporting and campaign evaluation.
- Taking ownership of organizing all aspects of events and campaigns.
- Compiling all project documentation to a high standard, from staff briefing documents to client reporting files.
- Establishing and following a realistic project plan/time path and obtaining approval from the client.
- Keeping in contact with all project stakeholders, being the lead for all parties, ensuring communication is clear and relevant.
- Delivering against agreed time frames and managing suppliers to ensure they deliver, prompting clients to meet their tasks.
- Identifying and maximizing all additional opportunities for clients, the firm, and third parties.
- Managing other team members who will be working under their direction.
- Creating online content for events and campaigns.
- Briefing and managing staff to complete objectives for projects.
- Working with the staffing team to brief them on campaign requirements for promotional staff and event managers.
Client Management:
- Ensuring you and your direct reports are managing clients effectively.
- Responding to requests from clients in a timely manner.
- Maintaining the client shared drive, ensuring all data is accurate and current.
- Generating creative solutions to meet all stakeholders’ objectives.
- Ensuring quality of budgets, documents, and reporting before it is sent to the client. Checking team’s work.
- Ensuring documents are in a clear and easily understood format.
- Providing valuable and insightful campaign feedback, using information to identify opportunities for the future.
- Ability to lead or influence client decisions by ensuring solid opinions and robust recommendations.
New Business:
- While the Account Director will manage the majority of new business, input will be required for pitches.
- Creating proposals and proactive recommendations to clients with support from the Account Director, generating creative solutions to meet all stakeholders’ objectives.
Suppliers and Locations:
- Bringing a wealth of knowledge across suppliers to build a supplier list.
- Experience in researching, negotiating, and booking locations with suppliers.
- Creating great relationships with suppliers.
- Negotiating prices and terms.
- Ensuring confidentiality is maintained.
- Drafting contracts and ensuring a robust paper trail, with approval required from the Account Director.
- Keeping up to date with innovations, competitor products, and supplier services, e.g., reporting tools, visiting suppliers, checking websites, reading press, and attending events.
- Identifying suppliers that would generate savings, add value, or provide a competitive advantage.
Finance:
- Ensuring the team is gaining three supplier quotes and that all costs are within or below budget.
- Ensuring the team has researched all purchases and are the best options.
- Generating client budgets with sign-off from the Account Director, ensuring we provide value to the client.
- Ensuring the team generates GP to meet targets.
- Raising client invoices using the accounting system, with sign-off from the Account Director.
- Ensuring all costs are within budget and generating additional savings. Ensuring the accounting software is being used.
- Demonstrating commercial thinking and smart buying.
- Ensuring invoicing is completed correctly, checking team’s invoices, and updating the Account Director on all budget updates.
People Management:
- Demonstrating good interpersonal skills when working with other staff.
- Managing and communicating well with external promotional staff, providing in-depth briefings to ensure project success.
- Managing weekly status reports and hosting weekly status meetings with the line manager to ensure each project runs to brief.
- Proactively consulting with key departments and suppliers to keep them informed of upcoming workloads to ensure timely completion of client projects.
- Briefing the creative department with design requirements.
- Listening and showing respect for other points of view.
- Arranging meetings and issuing accurate contact reports promptly.
- Training new team members on internal procedures and programs.
- Offering new ideas and sharing suggestions with the internal team.
- Managing junior staff and becoming a role model for the wider team.
- Managing training and development of junior line reports with support from the Account Director.
Knowledge:
- Excellent knowledge of UK cities and towns, UK industries, and UK demographic spread.
- Knowledge of the client’s business and sector (e.g., FMCG/Media sector, etc.).
- Generating creative solutions to reach objectives.
- Experience of working with production-heavy projects, managing the creative process, and being responsible for all paperwork, including risk assessments, method statements, and health and safety aspects of the build.
- Keeping up to date with current consumer trends and maintaining good existing knowledge of consumer shows.
- Extensive knowledge of sampling locations, sampling targets, realistic expectations, sponsorship opportunities, exhibitions, and other experiential locations.
