What you'll do:
- Manage the month-end financial reporting process - including the producing the consolidated P&L, Balance Sheets and Cash Flow statements with in-depth understanding of the balances.
- Assist in the preparation of accurate and insightful management reports for senior executives and the Board of Directors.
- Assist in the regulatory compliance processes including tax matters and financial statement audits.
- Proactively identify and deliver on improvement opportunities in both financial reporting and compliance in order to achieve efficiencies and minimise risk.
- Analysis and resolution of complex financial and accounting matters, including share based payments, financial instruments and revenue recognition.
- Manage the establishment, refinement and documentation of standardised financial control policies and procedures.
What it takes to be successful in this role:
- CA qualified.
- 3+ years post qualification experience, preferably working in or with fast growth small-medium sized companies.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and application of AASB/IFRS and corporate governance requirements.
- Month-end experience including preparing P&L analysis, general journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Dedication to continuous improvement, including research and adoption of new tools and systems to improve accuracy and automation.
- Highly detail-oriented with a preparedness to question the status quo.
- Advanced problem-solving skills and ability to deal with ambiguity.
- Curiosity and a burning desire to understand what makes things tick.
- Highly collaborative with proven ownership of results.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
