Overview:
This role requires a dynamic leader to oversee and strategically manage all aspects of facilities and maintenance operations. You will play a critical role in aligning facility needs with the organization's growth objectives, ensuring efficient project execution, optimizing resources, and maintaining regulatory compliance. A focus on team leadership, budgeting, vendor management, and leveraging technology will be essential in maintaining safe, functional, and cost-efficient facilities.
Key Responsibilities :
- Strategic Planning :
- You will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic plan that aligns facility operations with the organization's broader goals. This includes anticipating future needs related to growth, technology, and compliance with evolving regulations.
- Project Leadership :
- You will oversee multiple facility and maintenance projects from inception to completion, providing leadership to project teams to ensure successful and timely delivery.
- Resource Management :
- Efficiently allocate resources, ensuring the effective use of materials, manpower, and time. You'll focus on optimizing processes for better project delivery and improving overall resource utilization.
- Team Leadership :
- As the leader of a diverse team, including facility managers, maintenance supervisors, and support staff, you will foster a collaborative and development-focused work environment. Promoting teamwork and continuous improvement will be key.
- Budget Management :
- Manage and oversee the budget for the facilities and maintenance department, keeping a close eye on expenses, cost control, and opportunities for savings without compromising safety or functionality.
- Facility Management :
- Lead all aspects of facility design, construction, renovation, and ongoing maintenance, ensuring projects meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Maintenance Operations :
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and ensure the smooth operation of equipment and facilities. Coordinate and manage regular inspections, repairs, and upgrades.
- Compliance and Safety :
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations. Implement stringent safety protocols and procedures to guarantee a secure and healthy work environment.
- Vendor and Contract Management :
- Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts to meet quality standards and cost-efficiency. Monitor vendor performance and service quality regularly.
- Technology Integration :
- Stay updated with the latest technology in facilities management, incorporating new tools to enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes, and improve the overall effectiveness of maintenance functions.
Minimum qualifications and Experience:
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Certifications : CFM, PMP, or equivalent certifications in facilities or project management.
- Experience : 15+ years in facilities management, with proven leadership experience.
- Technical Skills : Knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance, and facility management software.
- Regulatory Knowledge : Familiarity with safety, environmental, and building codes.
- Leadership : Strong team leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Analytical Skills : Ability to manage budgets, analyze needs, and solve problems effectively.
