Litigation Associate Job Summary
An esteemed AmLaw200 firm, well-established along the Gulf Coast, is currently seeking an associate to join their Chambers-ranked Litigation practice group in the Houston office.
This attorney will collaborate closely with a robust team of litigators known for their mutual dedication, led by a partner committed to fostering associate development. Litigation Associate Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation strategy
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
- Represent clients in court proceedings and other dispute resolution forums
- Collaborate with partners and senior associates to develop and implement case strategies
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on litigation matters
- Manage and organize case files, ensuring all relevant documents are properly filed and maintained
- Attend depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings as required
- Stay current on legal developments and industry trends relevant to litigation.
Litigation Associate Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Texas state bar.
- 4+ years of experience in litigation, preferably with a focus on maritime, energy, O&G, and/or transportation matters.
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Demonstrated commitment to client service and professional excellence
