Position Summary:
Special Olympics, Inc. seeks an Intern, Media Management & Content Librarian to assist with archiving digital assets, captioning, and adding metadata to content during the Spring 2025 semester. The intern will contribute to the development, management, and distribution of dynamic digital materials that create positive attitudes, inspire and contribute toward audience growth. During the month of March, the intern will work specifically on moving photos and videos captured in Turin at the Special Olympics World Winter Games to the proper Photoshelter folders, researching additional information to add to the captions of these assets, and working with senior team members to make sure assets and folders are ready for publish dissemination. The majority of the senior members of the Media & Communications team will be on location in another time zone so it will be imperative that the intern is organized and has the ability to work without supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Use Photoshelter to caption, tag, and make available photos and videos captured by the remote content team at the Special Olympics World Winter Games.
- Migrate photo/video assets from multiple locations into Photoshelter
- Find and select digital assets to be included in videos produced by internal team, outside vendors, media, and partners
- Digitize assets
- Track work progress in shared workflow tracker
Requirements:
- Must be at least a college junior by January 2025 to be considered for role.
- Strong attention to detail
- Majoring in related field
- Can work independently and with a team
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient in MS Word
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with people with intellectual disabilities a plus
- Knowledge of sports is a plus
- Experience managing digital libraries, like PhotoShelter, Dropbox, or Google Drive
