The Children's Home of Pittsburgh is seeking a Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor. As we expand our counseling services, we are looking for a dynamic therapist, passionate about working with a range of clients served through all of our programs. The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will be able to work as part of a counseling team and be supported through regular counseling treatment team meetings. Areas of focus in this position would be providing counseling to children who have experienced grief, loss or trauma; children adjusting to a medical diagnosis; parents adjusting to the medical or developmental diagnosis of a child; and foster and adoptive parents. Skills in family therapy, play therapy, and/or trauma-based counseling preferred.
The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will be able to work as part of a counseling team and be supported through regular counseling treatment team meetings. Our team is passionate about supporting families as they adjust to a new normal following the diagnosis of a child, or change in their family building plans, and we welcome your knowledge and expertise in this area!
- Provide counseling to children who have experienced grief, loss or trauma; children adjusting to a medical diagnosis; parents adjusting to the medical or developmental diagnosis of a child; and foster and adoptive parents.
- Skills in family therapy, play therapy, and/or trauma-based counseling preferred.
- Must have LPC, LCSW, LMFT or the equivalent
- Open to newly licensed professionals!

Requirements: - Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field, required.
- Current, active, PA clinical license (LPC or LCSW) required.
- Minimum of one year experience post licensure in clinical work with families and children required.
- Strong knowledge of mental health conditions and evidence based therapeutic interventions for treatment required.
- Strong knowledge of the impact of trauma and trauma informed interventions required.
- Strong ability to build rapport with and communicate with all clients, regardless of age, preferred gender, sexual orientation, or other belief systems required.
- Experience working with families who have experienced infertility, adopted, or are dealing with a child with a medical or developmental need preferred.
