Position Overview
As a Service Technician, you will troubleshoot, test, repair and maintain brewing and serving equipment in a workshop environment. Our customers rely on quality, clean and reliable equipment to enjoy great tasting community coffee products every day.
Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities
- Prioritizes and schedules repair of brewing equipment
- Inspects used parts to determine change in dimensional requirements
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to troubleshoot
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
- Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments
- Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts
- Starts devices to test their performance
- Responsible for managing all parts inventory
- May be requested to perform different or additional duties as assigned
Position Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Passing score on aptitude test required in lieu of high school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years' related experience in electrical or small appliance repair- HVAC a plus
- Experience with Community Coffee, even if unrelated, may fulfill this requirement at the discretion of the hiring manager with approval from Human Resources.
- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical fundamentals
- Valid driver’s license or valid federal, state or local ID card
- Knowledge of plumbing and electrical fundamentals
- Successful completion of pre-employment physical.

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Field Sales Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but may be moderately loud in warehouse areas.
