– (a) provides mental wellness services to all Head Start children in form of prevention, intervention and treatment; (b identifies, assesses and treats Head Start children and families for emotional/behavioral disorders through the Head Start program; (c) provides consultation to teachers, staff and parents.
Qualifications:Master's degree in Mental Health, or Psychology, or Special Education with severe emotional/ behavioral disturbances endorsement from accredited University.Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) credentials issued by the Texas Board of License.Ability to identify, assess and provide appropriate educational treatment plans for children with emotional/behavioral challenges by using standardized evaluation instruments. Ability to train staff/parents on challenging emotions/behaviors and management techniques.Emotional/Behavioral disorders endorsement.Four years of experience working with preschool children with various disabilities including emotional and behavioral disorders in a classroom setting and counseling.
