Job description:
Summary
The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing measurements of product during production runs to support the setup personnel. In this role, one will use a variety of inspection equipment to verify the products being produced meet the requirements of the design.
Essential Job Function:
- Comply with all EHS Polices and Procedures.
- Inspect work in-process and plot data in required charts or records to maintain process control as required to support production personnel.
- Perform first piece inspections to approve job setup and authorize process to run.
- Perform final inspections to approve shipment of completed product to customers. .
- Analyze process control charts and determine when the process must be shut down or interrupted.
- Maintains packaging and lot integrity on assigned machinery.

Generate required inspection data and/or documents accurately.

Navigate and enter data accurately using Microsoft Excel.

Maintain inspection tools, equipment, tooling and accessories.

Keep the daily workload organized to utilize inspection resources efficiently.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Skills & Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across levels of the organization.
- Basic mathematical skills (addition, subraction, multiplication and division).
- Read and comprehend blueprint specifications including tolerance allowance.
- Understand basic specification control methods.
- Use inspection equipment such as micrometers, comparators, calipers, and load testers.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data entry for SPC software.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in quality assurance.
- Previous manufacturing experience including performing dimensional inspections preferred.
- Previous experience in spring or medical device manufacturing preferred.
- Previous experience using Statistical Process Control preferred.
