Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end data science projects, from problem formulation to model deployment, and present results to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business challenges and opportunities that can be addressed using data analysis, machine learning, and AI techniques.
- Design and implement innovative machine learning algorithms and models to solve complex business problems in the energy markets.
- Deliver technical solutions to enhance our trading platforms and solve business problems, ensuring on-time delivery.
- Utilize advanced natural language processing (NLP) techniques to enhance trading decisions.
- Explore, clean, and preprocess large datasets to extract relevant features and ensure data quality.
- Apply statistical analysis methods to uncover patterns, trends, and insights in data and effectively communicate findings.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior data scientists, fostering their growth and development.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate data-driven solutions into production systems.
Skills and Experience:
- BS/MS in Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or related field.
- Experience working with energy and financial data, specifically in North American Gas and Power Markets.
- 7-10+ years of experience developing enterprise-level Machine Learning (Client), AI, and NLP models and applications.
- Proficiency in Python and related libraries (scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Prophet, Hugging Face Transformers, spaCy).
- Extensive knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch), and NLP techniques.
- Strong SQL proficiency and understanding of database technologies (AWS RDS, Snowflake/databricks).
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau) to effectively communicate insights.
- Solid understanding of statistical concepts, hypothesis testing, and experience working with large-scale datasets and data processing tools (SQL, Spark).
- A portfolio showcasing previous data science projects and their business impact is highly desirable.
