Who We Are:
We perform testing on all vehicles, from compact cars to tractor-trailers and off-road equipment, and for internal combustion engines ranging from lawn mowers to locomotives. We also operate a fully functional tribology laboratory with unique capabilities to support client research programs. All these areas of testing require photos to be taken of test components, photographers are essential. By joining our team you will receive $500 on your first paycheck, minus applicable taxes.
Objectives of this Role:
- Provide lubricant testing and photography for various clients on different test types according to ASTM procedures.
- Provide fuel testing and photography for various clients on different test types for both on-road and dynamometer testing.
- Provide fuel, lubricant testing, and photography in a safe manner by following safety practices and Environmental Management and Quality Systems.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Take pictures (photo capturing) of automotive parts.
- Follow written and verbal instructions.
- Monitor test engines, obtain fluid samples, calibrate test & photography equipment.
- Disassemble test components,
- Edit (photo shop) pictures to fit on specific formatted templates.
- Photo Touch-up from glare, shadow and back-lighting. Provide fuel and lubricant testing.
- Prepare and label samples, observed and record test information, perform engine stand maintenance, keep a clean work area.
- Follow templates format as per client protocol.
- Recognize templates formats per test type.
- Archive files and manage raid folders.
- Remove and install engine components, prep engine for disassembly, prep engine for photos.
- Photograph specific areas of automotive parts and position/reference the parts to prevent light or shadow obstructions.
- Identify and follow a photo request.
- Print and reproduce photocopies.
- Maintain a database.
- Capture photos on test components provided from clients.
- Perform photo restorations, color correction and retouch.
- Print or burn/place on CD-ROM (digital prints).
- Recognize Jpeg format, communicate with coworkers, supervisors, and project leaders.
Requirements:
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with engine knowledge and understanding of functions of engine components.
- Shift work required.
- 2+ years: Lubricant testing and ability to train in photography for various clients on different test types according to ASTM procedures.
- Provide fuel testing and photography for various clients on different test types for both on-road and dynamometer testing.
- Provide fuel, lubricant testing, and photography in a safe manner by following safety practices and Environmental Management and Quality Systems.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
