Superintendent
The Superintendent of a construction project is responsible for leading the team in the field through all aspects of construction from concept through completion. Along the way, the Superintendent will be responsible for safety, schedule management, quality control, project documentation, and more.

Preconstruction
- Develop and implement a preconstruction plan by analyzing the construction documents, identifying the critical path and long-lead items, and setting a plan to build the project efficiently.
- Develop a site logistics plan by carefully analyzing site conditions, utilities, material deliveries, site access, worker parking, field office location, etc.
Schedule Management
- Works with the Project Manager and General Superintendent to develop the project schedule.
- Develops and maintains the Look-Ahead Schedule by identifying the most critical items that must occur over the coming weeks.
- Coordinates and schedules Subcontractors and Suppliers daily and adjust as necessary to accommodate changing project conditions.
Quality Control
- Oversees overall quality control for the project.
- Ensures all applicable inspections are performed and discrepancies are resolved in a timely matter.
- Manages the Punch List at the end of a project by continually monitoring and setting expectations throughout the project.
Documentation
- Responsible for ensuring ALL project documentation is kept, including daily reporting, materials testing reports, inspection reports, and any other reporting specific to the project.
- Responsible for capturing photographs of project progress, materials, operations, site conditions, and all other aspects that may be required, daily.
Materials & Equipment
- Monitors and documents deliveries to ensure accurate quantities are onsite when needed and meet Project Specifications.
Meetings & Relationships
- Runs weekly Subcontractor Coordination meetings.
- Maintains positive relationships with all members of the Project Team, including, but not limited to Owners, Architects, Engineers, Inspectors, Subcontractors, etc.
Safety
- Develops and implements a Site-Specific Safety Plan.
- Conducts site safety inspections weekly.
- Addresses all safety concerns as they arise, and halts work immediately if there are concerns of life safety.
- Ensures the project is kept clean and organized.
- Ensures the project field office is kept clean and organized, and visitor PPE is available.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficient in personal computer and e-mail applications.
- Knowledge of construction document management software such as Procore.
- Ability to accurately sequence and schedule construction activities and projects.
- Ability to identify potential issues and offer resolutions before the project is affected.
- Ability to read and interpret contract documents.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients, Subcontractors, and/or associates.
