The SLAM Collaborative has an opportunity for an Entry Level Civil Engineer (EI) to join our office in Orlando, FL. The ideal candidate will be a talented and motivated civil engineering graduate with a focus on civil/site design and 0 to 5 years of experience. For consideration, candidates must have earned an ABET Accredited Civil or Environmental Engineering degree and at minimum possess an Engineering Intern (EI) certification.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Collaborate with staff to advance project objectives
- Develop and express strong planning and design concepts
- Translate design concepts into AutoCad Civil 3D based technical drawings and specifications
- Produce civil engineering plans for site development that includes demolition, erosion control, site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and construction details
- Assist with other project needs such as site visits, communication with owners and contractors, construction administration and preparation of specifications
Key Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communications skills; able to interact daily with clients/owners/contractors and coordinate designs with architects and other engineers
- Ability to evaluate sites analytically and graphically
- A team player with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, and work well under deadlines
- Ability to work independently with proficient organizational and time management skills.
- Experience with site grading and drainage design, site utility design, stormwater design, permitting and site planning/layout is preferred but not required

This opportunity should be of special interest to a recent graduate that wishes to provide civil engineering site design within a theme park environment in addition to other projects located around the country in our nationwide practice.
