Title: Design Engineer II
Location: Austin, Texas
Duration: 6-month contract to conversion
Day-to-Day:
- Build panels that control heat for production floors to control thermal environments, build internal schematics, build assembly drawings, and patterns on back plate for certain components.
- Take the programming and establish custom designs for the operators to control the various heating elements
- Manage multiple projects from concept to production
- Translate marketing requirements into technical performance requirements.
Must haves:
- 2-4 years of Design Engineering experience
- Proficient in 2D / 3D CAD software (SolidWorks Electrical is required). AutoCAD 3d design required.
- They must have SolidWorks ELECTRICAL - please ask them if they have experience using the electrical piece of SolidWorks.
- Design control systems utilizing UL508A - they need to have experience working on this type of control system.
- They must have UL experience
Plusses:
- Experience using DFMEA as a tool to guide your design. (DFMEA stands for Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis. It is a structured, proactive approach to identify potential failure modes in a product design, assess their severity, and implement strategies to mitigate or eliminate those risks.)
- Bachelors degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or electrical engineering
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Billing materials, prepare test plans (MS office, PPT, excel)
- Ability to understand design for experiment
