Requisites
- Associate degree in accounting preferred, or equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- This position reports directly to the Assistant Controller.
- This position is considered regular, full-time, and requires a minimum in-office schedule of 40 hours per week. This may also include occasional travel.
Responsibilities
- Code documents and post transactions according to company procedures; check figures, postings and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy and proper codes.
- Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts.
- Reconcile expense reports and credit card statements to supporting documentation, code and post transactions.
- Prepare bank deposits, verifying and balancing receipts, and sending cash, checks, or other forms of payment to banks.
- Reconcile records of bank transactions.
- Monitor status of accounts to ensure that payments are up to date (Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable); send customer statements; follow-up on past due amounts.
- Process credit applications and trade reference inquiries.
- Compile reports pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and commissions
- Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store and analyze information.
- Operate 10-key calculators, scanners and copy machines to perform calculations and produce documents.
- Perform general office duties, such as going to the Post Office, taking deposits to the bank, filing, handling routine correspondence.
- Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations.
Other Requisites
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
- Observe and comply with AVC’s rules and regulations.
- Must agree to (and pass) a background check, physical (if applicable), and drug screening testing.
- This position requires continuous training.
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus.
