Class A CDL Driver - Flatbed

Job Description:

For over 100 years, Maguire Iron has been an industry leader in the fabrication, construction, and maintenance of water storage tanks and elevated water towers. The Class A CDL Driver will drive a tractor-trailer combination with step-deck trailers hauling some oversized loads and will deliver materials and job trailers to work-sites in a 25-state area. Overnight travel is required with some weekend travel. Very frequent home time, typically up to 3 nights out at a time.

Essential Functions:

Follow appropriate safety & load securement procedures when transporting material.
Perform vehicle inspections before driving them to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
Maintain electronic logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status while following applicable state and federal regulations.
Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles to supervisor.
Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
Perform basic maintenance tasks and minor repairs of truck, trailers and other equipment.
Load and unload step-deck trailers with forklifts and overhead lifts.
Collaborate with other drivers as part of a driving team on some trips.
Pick-up and delivery of parts in town.
Coordinate project material and equipment on campus.
One or more-year(s) experience as a class A CDL driver
Prior construction material delivery experience preferred.
Valid Class A nonrestricted CDL required with optional Tanker Endorsement.
Able to work in unfavorable weather conditions; both heat and cold.
Prolonged periods sitting in a tractor cab.
Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds at a time.
Must be able to travel frequently.

One or more-year(s) experience as a class A CDL driver
