CNC Machinist / Setup

Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist / Setup to join our metal manufacturing team in Salt Lake City, UT. This full-time role involves setting up and operating CNC machines to produce high-quality metal parts to specified tolerances. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with CNC machining and setup in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines (mills and/or lathes) to produce metal components according to precise specifications.
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine required operations.
- Select and prepare tools, fixtures, and materials for each production run.
- Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain accuracy and quality standards.
- Perform regular inspections of finished parts using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to ensure conformance.
- Troubleshoot machine issues and conduct basic maintenance to ensure smooth operations.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of CNC machining and setup experience, ideally in metal manufacturing.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and technical instructions.
- Strong attention to detail, with knowledge of inspection and quality control processes.
- Basic troubleshooting skills and knowledge of machine maintenance.
- Proficiency with measurement tools and gauges used in metalworking.
- Understanding of workplace safety practices in a manufacturing setting.
