Requisites
- This position reports directly to the Human Resources Manager.
- This position is considered regular, full-time, and requires a minimum in-office schedule of 40 hours per week.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience considered.
- Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) Certified Professional certificate will be required within first year of holding job position.
Responsibilities
- Operate telephone switchboard to answer, screen, or forward calls, providing information or scheduling appointments.
- Greet persons entering establishment, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinations.
- Provide information about establishment, such as location of departments or offices, employees within the organization, or services provided.
- Review employment applications and job orders to match applicants with job requirements; conduct reference or background checks, interview to obtain information on work history, training, education, or job skills; select qualified applicants or refer them to managers, making hiring recommendations when appropriate. Schedule or administer skill, intelligence, psychological, or drug tests for current or prospective employees. Contact job applicants to inform them of the status of their applications.
- Perform searches for qualified candidates, using sources such as computer databases, networking, Internet recruiting resources, media advertisements, job fairs, recruiting firms, or employee referrals. Develop or implement recruiting strategies to meet current or anticipated staffing needs.
- Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination; verify American Vulkan Corporation’s (AVC) personal property is returned and complete employment termination paperwork.
- Assist with schedule events, programs, and activities. Track dates specific to employee events and requirements.
- Thinking creatively, organizing, planning, and prioritizing work, developing objectives and strategies, making decisions and solving problems, updating and using relevant knowledge, interpreting the meaning of information for others, judging the qualities of things, services, or people.
