Position Description Job Summary:
Summers- Taylor is seeking a certified Crane Operator in the Tri-Cities area! The Crane Operator will be responsible for operating heavy crane equipment in a safe and appropriate manner at highway and civil heavy construction projects. The Crane Operator will also be a helping hand on the ground when not performing normal operator duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 or more years of crane operating experience required, bridge construction preferred
- Class A or B CDL license with c lean driving record and current DOT physical card required
- CIC, NCCO or equivalent OSHA-approved crane certification required (LAT / TLL / TSS)
- Must be able to climb ladders, stand and walk on uneven surfaces as well as sit for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate crane to lift and move materials and other objects
- Plan all lifts, use capacity charts
- Perform rigging inspection and daily crane inspection
- Respond according to hand and/or verbal instructions
- Observe the travel of all loads and take appropriate action to avoid injury to personnel or damage to property
- Listen to warning alarms and respond accordingly, and dread boom angle and drum rotation indicators
- Ultimate responsible person during crane or hoisting operations to ensure the pick is safe
- Perform daily inspections and report findings using effective verbal and written communication skills
- Be thoroughly familiar with crane control functions
- Operate crawler and hydraulic cranes for bridge construction
- Keep equipment clean and well maintained on an ongoing basis
