(Up to 50% Domestic Travel)
The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Director of Facility Operations and is responsible for supervising facility maintenance projects from inception to delivery for all SOFIE locations. Projects may include HVAC, construction, roofing, painting, carpentry, masonry, flooring, door access, and other related projects. The position develops scope, verifies budget, obtains bids, provides recommendations, manages contractors, tracks and reports progress, and delivers outcomes with expected results. Projects may also be completed internally by the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor and/or other Facilities staff.
Duties may also include building inspections, completing maintenance punch lists, responding to emergencies, prioritizing critical need projects, supervising preventive maintenance contractors, supervising other maintenance staff, and using and/or maintaining the CMMS for the Facilities department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Project Management: Manage and supervise several projects concurrently, and deliver projects on time, within scope, on budget, identifying threats, and minimizing risk
· Ensure all SOFIE locations are maintained in compliance with all local and federal regulations and codes.
· Customer Service: Collaborate with and support the Director of Facility Operations, Regional Directors, local facilities, and the SOFIE Network to achieve organizational goals
· Coordinate, supervise, and/or perform work of all building systems including duties as assigned
· Provide timely response to emergency building and equipment support requests, and respond to stressful situations in a calm, professional manner
· Serve as technical and subject matter expert for department
· Problem Solver: The candidate can assess, troubleshoot, and resolve deficiencies quickly and effectively
· Ability to source, qualify, and manage vendors, and develop relationships for future projects
· Possess strong interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate with stakeholders, and represent SOFIE ethically and professionally
· Ensure SOFIE’s quality assurance standards are met for all applicable projects: comply with regulatory standards, adhere to policies and procedures, provide applicable documentation, and uphold SOFIE’s quality and safety culture
Qualifications
· Degree in HVAC, Construction Management, trade school, or related field; or equivalent field experience in facility maintenance roles
· Strong project management skills required and the ability to complete projects on tight deadlines, including weekends when necessary
· Experience working with trade contractors (HVAC, electricians, plumbers, general contractors, etc.) required, having built strong relationships with vendors and clients, and advanced knowledge of MEP, building envelope, construction processes, tools, and trade means and methods
· Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and standards, and able to read and understand drawings and prints
· Proficiency in MS Office 365, basic math, and the ability to use company platforms to complete travel and training requirements
· Ability to communicate professionally with colleagues, and collaborate with all stakeholders
· Attention to detail, dependable, responsible and able to exercise independent judgment in a fast-paced, highly technical environment
· Experience troubleshooting, reacting, and resolving maintenance needs quickly
· Ability to stand and/or remain seated for extended periods of time, and able to lift 60 lbs.
· Ability to be independent, autonomous, and work a flexible schedule when necessary
· Competent in conflict and crisis management
· Leadership, organization, and resource management skills
· Valid DL and the ability to rent and operate motor vehicles, and to rent and operate rental equipment as needed
· Domestic travel in the US for project support up to 50% required, including weekends when necessary. Remaining time to be remote or at a SOFIE location
· Must be located near a major airport to support US SOFIE locations, Romeoville, IL or Dallas, TX preferred
