Job Title: Wire Form Setup Operator
2nd Shift; M-F (3:30 PM to 12:00 PM)
Summary
Responsible for setup on a Wire Form machine and producing quality spring parts.
Essential Job Function:
- Setup and operate wire forming machines per job specification and blueprint to produce spring parts and meet production needs per quality standards.
- Based on job orders, installs necessary tooling, and sets correct speed and feed rates.
- Perform quality checks on parts using comparators, micrometers, calipers and other inspection instruments.
- Uses technical and mechanical skills this individual monitors, analyzes, diagnoses and repairs machine problems.
- Performs routine and preventative maintenance to machines.
- Maintains work area neat and orderly.
- Observes all safety rules and policies.
- Perform other related duties and activities as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, job orders and interpret part specifications.
- Ability to use inspection equipment such as comparators, micrometers, calipers and scales.
- Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
- Safety-first mindset.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Basic knowledge of computer for entering data.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work overtime when required to meet customer demand.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Minimum 10 years of experience in Spring Wireforming Setup.
Experience with Itaya Machines required.
Journeyperson preferred.
Experience operating a sit-down forklift a plus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Paragon Medical is a manufacturing environment. The employee will be required to talk or hear with others in a noisy environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands, finger and arms to handle, or feel objects and reach overhead, pull and push. The employee will be required to frequently lift and/or move object that weight up to 50lbs.The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, balance, kneel, or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
