Assistant Librarian- Part Time
(Learning Resources Center)
SUNY Broome Community College seeks a part-time Assistant Librarian to provide reference and instructional support for up to 26 hours per week, including evenings.
Monday through Thursday (until 9 PM) and weekend shifts, Saturday & Sunday 1 pm - 5 pm.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Research, instructional, and technical support for students and faculty.
- Reference services in a highly networked environment.
- Developing library instruction, including web-based materials.
- Special projects during winter and summer terms.
Requirements:
A Master's degree from an ALA-accredited Library and Information Science Program.
Three years of professional library experience or equivalent combination of relevant experience.
Desired skills:
- Experience in the use of traditional and electronic resources.
- Working knowledge of library-oriented hardware and software.
- Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports and communicate with others.
Additional Information:
The hourly rate for this position is $41.79/hour (no benefits).
