Job Title: Chemical Technician (Downstream Chemicals) -
Role Summary:
An opening for a Chemical Service Technician to assist in the implementation and monitoring of specialty chemical applications within the refinery and terminals. This position will entail; field activity (inventory control, operating chemical feed systems, performing maintenance & repair) as well as other related duties. The candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently executing work in the refinery/terminal setting and will work closely with customer personnel and Baker site team. They will also be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of equipment and chemical to and from job sites. This is an on-call position that will require work on weekends and holidays.
Essential Responsibilities:
â Work with pumps, generators, hoses, and fittings
â Chemical transferring & deliveries
â Moving materials, components and other products to and from job sites
â Transport chemical in accordance with Department of Transportation guidelines.
â Sample Collection and testing
â Assist representative(s) with in plant/terminal duties including loading/unloading treatment chemicals, chemical pump monitoring, samples, chemical tank inventories, and chemical injection system maintenance and repair
â Manage Preventive Maintenance Program
â Performing other duties as needed
â Ability to work 12-16 hrs. shifts when required and under minimal supervision
â Capable of working at heights
â Effective communications skills: Verbal & Written
â Exhibit Strong Safety Culture
Qualifications/Requirements:
â High School Diploma with 2+ years' experience.
â Class C CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
â Industrial or chemical / refinery plant experience
â Willing to travel when needed.
â Clean Driving record with a valid US Driver's license & valid TWIC Card
â Experience with pumps and hoses
â Must be able to lift 50lbs
Desired Characteristics:
â Class C CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements preferred
â Self-motivated, very strong interpersonal skills, and a quick learner
â Experience with field testing, such as H2S and pour point
â Experience performing form additive injections
â Experience handling hazardous materials
â Experience working with generators, compressors, pumps and piping
