SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
A Product Line Agent (PLA) is the most proficient avenue available to assist in the day-to-day station operations for the Southwest Division’s Desert station group.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Assist with budget adherence with review of expenditures, implementation of budget efficiencies and oversight
• Assist with conducting various audits (Amtrak Public Health, Station, Facility, Attendance, etc.) including audits requiring travel. Must be knowledgeable of Amtrak oversight regulations and revenue compliance processes.
• Coordinate with local management boarding process enhancements for Amtrak Long Distance Services
• Position will communicate directly with Transportation leadership group to ensure customer focus and superior service for Amtrak operations in the region
- Coordinate/schedule/instruction related to various training and safety initiatives, as well as policies changes and implementation.
- Work to establish consistent, cost-effective responses and protocols related to service disruptions for the SW Desert Region area and maintain various blanket purchase orders for services and vendors.
- Position will be involved in facility improvements (ADA efforts, Station Renovation projects, facility moves, etc.)
- Assist with employee recognition, progression merit increases and incentives programs and policies.
- Partner with Amtrak PD to assist in monitoring station security issues, remedies and various contracts associated with security and alarm systems for stations.
- Other duties assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior satisfactory job performance and superior attendance is required.
- Applicant must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in ticketing or accounting, with three (3) years of customer facing position.
- Knowledge of Amtrak baggage procedures and a thorough knowledge of tariffs, Ticketing and Station Operations, along with Amtrak Schedules, Policies and Procedures, and Operations for the SW Desert Region.
- Applicant will also possess knowledge of or experience in providing response to Amtrak service disruptions.
- Willing to travel, work varying hours and durations, a team builder and possess the ability to multitask.
COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills in working with co-workers, the traveling public and vendors.
The hourly rate is $31.59- $42.11 (with opportunity for increases, as per the applicable collective bargaining agreement, after beginning employment).
