Compensation:$90,000 - $125,000 yearly
Responsibilities:- Represent clients in court to argue motions during legal proceedings
- Draft correspondence, legal pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Preside over paralegals, administrative assistants in connection with keeping track of time records, reviewing client billing, setting up client meetings and completing client projects
- Conduct research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions
- Identify client conflicts and determine case strategies with options for resolution
- Counsel clients by assessing options and determining the best course of action for a successful outcome
Qualifications:- Required Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school; representation of clients for at least 2 years a plus
- Decision-making, public speaking, problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and communication skills are a must
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is needed
- Advanced computer skills working with legal research programs (Westlaw and Lexis) required
- Must be able to handle heavy caseload with little supervision
- Licensed to practice law in Missouri and Kansas.
- No prior history of disciplinary complaints or prior malpractice claims.
- Ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in family law or other civil litigation experience.
