An exceptional locum tenens opportunity is now available for a Board-Certified/Eligible Gastroenterologist, a subspecialty of Internal Medicine, near Willard, New Mexico. This position offers a chance to provide expert care in a well-supported environment while maintaining a balanced work schedule.
Assignment Highlights - Start Date: March 2025
- Duration: Ongoing through December 2025
- Schedule:
- Two weeks per month
- Monday through Friday
- Rotating call schedule (one week per month, covering weekdays and weekends)
- Daily Duties:
- GI Lab: Perform 18-20 procedures per day (3 lab days per week)
- Clinic: Manage 18-20 patient visits per day
Facility and Support - Practice Setting: Outpatient-focused with call rotation
- Call Duties: Includes phone consults and potential admissions
- Support Staff: Full clinical team support, including APPs, RNs, and MAs
Required Skills and Experience - Core Procedures:
- Upper GI Endoscopy: Biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeders, and injection of varices
- Lower GI Endoscopy: Colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp removal
- Preferred Expertise:
- ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography)
- Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
- Small bowel and liver biopsies
Qualifications - Licensing: Temporary hospital privileges available; credentialing takes 60-90 days
- Certifications Required: ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS
- Board Status: Fellowship in Gastroenterology required. Board-eligible candidates must have an exam date scheduled within 12-18 months.
