HOURS: Day Shift; Flexible
FULL TIME: Benefits Eligible
You will:
- Perform a vital part of the patient care process by examining prepared slides with the microscope to detect evidence of abnormalities
- Report negative Pap Test cases and refer abnormal cases to pathologists for review
- May read Non-GYN specimens and report findings to pathologists for final diagnosis
- Document the total number of slides examined or reviewed within each 24-hour period
- Document the number of hours spent examining slides daily
- Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment
- Champion safety, compliance, and quality control
All you need is:
- Graduation from an accredited school of cytology
- NYS Lab License.
- Certification as a Cytotechnologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists
- Possess critical thinking, complex problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills
- Ability to operate general laboratory equipment and have basic computer skills
Bonus points if you have:
- 2+ years of laboratory training or experience
Salary Range: $38.00 to $50.00 per hour (depending on experience). Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply.
