Cost Analyst will support the organization in project estimating, budgeting, and cost management processes. The role involves applying industry-standard project management tools and techniques to optimize project cost performance, monitor and control costs, and ensure compliance with guidelines. This individual will work with project teams, managers, and stakeholders to provide accurate cost analysis, reporting, and risk assessment.
What You Need to Bring to the Table:Qualifications- Education:
- High School Diploma required.
- 5+ years of experience in Microsoft Excel or equivalent software for data manipulation and reporting.
- Experience:
- 4 6 years in cost analysis, project cost management, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in project cost estimating, budgeting, and reporting.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to monitor and control costs effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
Bonus Points! Otherwise Known As Preferred Qualifications: Certifications/Licenses: Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., AACE, PMI) preferred.What You'll Be Doing/Key Responsibilities:- Project Cost Management:
- Develop, maintain, and manage project cost estimates, budgets, and cost baselines.
- Perform cost variance assessments, cost forecasting, and schedule integration.
- Monitor and manage the project Estimate at Completion (EAC).
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Compile and produce cost reports for stakeholders, including variance analysis.
- Provide timely project work performance data to facilitate corrective action.
- Develop cost-related metrics and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Risk Management:
- Quantify and integrate cost risk with project risk.
- Develop cost risk management strategies to improve cost performance.
- Contract Management:
- Process labor timesheets, invoices, and other contract submittals.
- Perform contract reviews for payment requirements and contract performance.
- Assist with contract forecasting, payments, and performance reporting.
- Tools and Integration:
- Utilize project management software (e.g., Microsoft Excel) for cost tracking.
- Ensure the integration of cost management with scope and schedule management.
- Tailor cost management tools and processes to specific project needs.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Engage with stakeholders to optimize cost planning and control.
- Communicate cost performance and provide support to project management teams.
- Assist in retrieving and organizing cost-related information for Major Projects.
- Compliance:
- Ensure cost management aligns with NIPSCO Project Management Guidelines and industry standards (e.g., AACE, PMI, Construction Management Industry).
- Maintain data quality and integrity in cost reporting.
