The Commercial Project Manager is responsible for overseeing commercial painting projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, ensuring every aspect of the project meets our high standards. Exceptional customer service skills and an understanding of operational efficiency are also essential. Using these skills, the candidate will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Compensation:$55,000 - $70,000 yearly
Responsibilities:- Oversee Projects - Oversee all phases of commercial painting projects from scheduling through project walkthrough
- Customer Communication - Serve as the customer's point of contact for scope, schedule, phasing plans, change orders, concerns and final walkthrough
- Subcontractor Communication - Act as the primary liaison for subcontractors, providing clear direction on project scope, products, processes, and efficiency expectations to ensure seamless collaboration and timely execution.
- Quality Control - Conduct regular site visits to assess compliance with project specifications, cleanliness, and safety standards, and lead the final punch list review with the crew to ensure all details are addressed before the customer walkthrough.
- Job Tracking - Monitor and analyze each job's financial performance by comparing actual results against estimated budgets to ensure profitability and identify areas for improvement.
- Operational Efficiency - Ensure crews are working efficiently to help maintain healthy working relationship
- Problem Solving - Come up with solutions to project issues while considering all aspects of the decision. Understand when to escalate concerns
- Project Management Software - Maintain and update project management software to ensure accurate tracking of project progress, budgets, and schedules, facilitating effective communication among all team members.
- Painting - Paint! Participate in painting for up to 15% of the time to gain insights into customer needs, projects, and build relationships with crews
- Job requires travel up to 25% of time
Qualifications:- Experience in the painting or construction industry, with a strong understanding of field operations.
- Previous experience in a leadership role, such as superintendent or field leader, is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes, technologies, and painting-related products and tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and other related software
