The primary responsibilities of this role include overseeing risk management activities such as committee administration, auditor and regulator relations, and coordination with various CUSO-related entities like CM and SI.
The individual will serve as key person to escalate risk-related issues to the Head of Market Risk Planning and the CRO of CM/SI.

Key Responsibilities:
Committee Governance Management
- Develop and enhance frameworks for market risk management and risk governance committees within CUSO.
- Plan and organize risk committee meetings, including setting agendas, focusing on key topics, and managing routine items.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to prepare committee materials efficiently.
- Compile and refine content from various departments to create clear and impactful presentations for committee meetings.
- Track and manage action items from committees, ensuring accountability and adherence to timelines.
Internal and External Oversight Facilitation
- Lead the management of exams, monitoring, and testing by internal audit and control departments.
- Oversee exams and periodic reviews by external regulators such as FRB, NYDFS, NFA, CFTC, FINRA, etc.
- Manage deliverables and action items required for oversight.
- Handle remediations related to oversight findings.
Issues Management and Tracking
- Maintain a comprehensive list of market and liquidity risk issues across CUSO, including regulatory, audit, and self-identified issues.
- Engage with issue owners to monitor remediation activities.
- Escalate potential delays in remediation promptly.
Knowledge Requirements
- Familiarity with risk concepts and valuation methods (e.g., VaR, stress-testing standards, counterparty exposure estimation, documentation, and reporting approaches).
Communication and Leadership Skills
- Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills to work with internal departments, affiliates, Head Office, and regulatory bodies.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal risk management colleagues and leaders across all subsidiaries globally.
- Strong reasoning skills to understand complex situations, people, and system needs within a risk management environment.
- Strong analytical skills with great attention to detail.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to work independently.
Profile
Preferred Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in risk governance or a closely related role.
- Business fluency in English (Japanese preferred).
- Proficiency in VBA and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, focusing on one task while keeping track of others.
Job Offer
$175,000-$225,000 base salary, plus bonus.
