Responsibilities The Director of Practice Optimization will work closely with the VP of Practice Optimization and the Practice Services Group in the support of an independent specialist partnership strategy for the Specialty Practice Division. The focus of this individual will be to support the practice partnerships as a functional lane during diligence and integration as well as ongoing operational support on special projects, interim CEO and like assignments, leadership decisions and more.
A key component of the role will be a deep understanding of the needs and challenges facing most independent specialty groups including a deep understanding of practice operations, the value propositions and levers that Specialty Practice can bring to a practice, quickly assess the landscape and coordinate the appropriate internal and external resources to develop and validate those propositions and ultimately drive an actionable strategic plan in partnership with the practice and the practice operations team. This role will work very closely with the VP of Practice Optimization.
Key Responsibilities :
- Support VP of Practice Optimization as well as the MSO operations team in the execution of the diligence and integration for prospective partnerships validating assumptions and calling out barriers that are critical to closing transactions as well as the ongoing success of a practice/MSO.
- Analyse current state of practice operations including leadership, systems, policies, procedures and overall operational efficiency. Develop solutions in partnership with MSO CEO and VP Practice Operations.
- Quickly assess the dynamics and culture of prospective practices and skilfully navigate the groups decision making process during diligence and integration of target groups.
- Develop relationships with MSO leadership team of assigned practices
- Ensure a smooth transition to day-to-day operations during diligence as well as when engaged on special projects and interim CEO (and like) assignments.
- Identify operational obstacles and work with MSO and operations teams of assigned practices to identify and implement short and long-term solutions.
- Oversee Manager of Practice Optimization
Qualifications- Experience (minimum 5 years) in Specialty Practice operations.
- Experience working with independent physician practices. Experience with proceduralists (Opthamology preferred).
- Experience working with or in Management Services Organization (MSO) or other entity that provides management and consultative services to physician practices.
- Experience supporting the Development team managing relationship through close.
- Ability to establish trust and long-term relationships.
- Willing to travel extensively, at least 40% and potentially more per week.
- Outstanding communication skills and executive presence.
