The Trust & Estates Paralegal requires a strong understanding of legal principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The Trustee will work closely with legal teams and financial advisors to ensure that all trust activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- 5+ years of experience as a Trusts & Estates Paralegal working with attorneys and clients.
- Manage and administer trust assets in accordance with legal requirements and the terms of the trust document.
- Conduct thorough legal research to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Draft legal documents related to trust management, including wills, powers of attorney, and other necessary documentation.
- Interview beneficiaries and other stakeholders to gather information pertinent to trust administration.
- Perform data entry tasks accurately to maintain up-to-date records of trust activities.
- Maintain clear communication with beneficiaries regarding their rights and the status of the trust.
- Collaborate with legal teams on litigation matters related to trusts, including personal injury law or family law cases as necessary.
- Utilize iManage or similar software for document management and organization.
Skills
- Proficient in legal drafting, ensuring clarity and compliance in all documentation.
- Strong interviewing skills to effectively gather information from beneficiaries and stakeholders.
- Excellent data entry abilities with attention to detail for maintaining accurate records.
