Lead Python Software Engineer – AI product development Up to £95k Bonus Hybrid Working London offices A Leadership opportunity for an experienced Python Software Engineer. The Lead Software Engineer would join an experienced product team developing a Greenfield AI product to be used by a massive customer base in the UK. The Lead Python Software Engineer will lead a growing team of 5 engineers, so the business requires candidates with previous team leadership experience with hands on engineering backgrounds. The role will be backend focussed so Python, Django is the core experience required. The product is AI based so any experience with AI/ML based product development in a large customer focussed business is highly desirable. Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of experienced software engineers. Play a key role is improving and implementing software engineering best practice and process Work closely with the Product team and Engineering Manager in steering tech direction and architecture Remain hands-on as needed and work closely with senior engineers to resolve and tech challenges Required Experience: Technical leadership experience in an Agile, DevOps environment Proven experience leading software engineers in a Tech Lead, Lead Engineer, or similar capacity A hands-on background in Python, Django and GCP or AWS - full stack experience is beneficial (React.js, Next.js) Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing engineers and senior stakeholders.
