workability LLC has applied to become a contracted service provider for Vocational Rehabilitation services in the state of Oregon. If the contract is awarded, we will target mid-March / early April 2025 for the person in this position to begin training.
Please note that this role is for an independent contractor, who will have variable hours. This position is seasonal in nature.
The timeframe anticipated for work activity is April through October, with anywhere from 5 to 15 hours per week.
The Job Developer will work remotely from their own home, with in-person video conference calls or in-person meetings taking place intermittently. Most work will be conducted via email and phone calls.
Candidates selected for interviews will be contacted in mid-to-late February / early March.
Job Developer Responsibilities & Duties
- Identify job opportunities and job fairs that align with the skills and goals of job seekers
- Build relationships with local employers and recruit new job placements
- Provide one-on-one career counseling and job search assistance to job seekers
- Develop and maintain accurate, up-to-date records of job placement activities
- Assist with resume writing, interview preparation, and other job search skills
- Partner with community organizations to create job training and placement programs
- Staff exhibit tables at local community resource fairs. Hand out informational materials and answer questions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Developer Qualifications & Skills
- Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities, autism and military veterans
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- High comfort level working with computers to complete forms, create and submit forms and invoices.
- Familiarity with job search databases and online job boards
- Applicants must reside in the state of Oregon; candidates based in Central Oregon are preferred.
Nice to Have, but not required
- Associate's degree in social services, human resources, social work, counseling or a related field, preferred
- Certification in career development or job placement, or willingness to pursue a certification within one year of employment
- 2+ years of experience in job placement or career development
