The GIS Analyst will play a key role in managing geospatial data, ensuring compliance with Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE), and supporting data analysis, visualization, quality assurance, and quality control (QA/QC) efforts. Additionally, the GIS Analyst will be responsible for evaluating geospatial systems, creating essential documentation, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure alignment with program goals. This position's location is at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois (St. Louis area).
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage geospatial data and metadata for the U.S. Air Force database, ensuring compliance with SDSFIE and DoD standards while maintaining data accuracy and consistency.
- Create digital, printed, and web maps using ArcGIS Portal to support decision-making, ensuring maps are clear and accessible.
- Perform quality assurance (QA) and/or quality control (QC) on geospatial data to improve quality and accuracy.
- Assess and improve geospatial systems and applications, recommending updates to optimize performance and integration.
- Develop and deliver GIS training for end-users, promoting best practices through webinars, workshops, and tutorials.
- Provide technical support for geospatial data management and resolve issues related to data access, software, and workflows.
- Assist in creating geospatial documentation like SOPs and work instructions to ensure standardized practices.
- Track GIS project progress, manage timelines, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure goals and deliverables are met.

The following are requirements of the GIS Analyst:
- US Citizen with a DoD Secret Clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain CompTIA Security+ Certification.
- 4 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or 2 years of experience with a Master's degree; or 2 years of experience with a PhD.
- 3 years of experience in GIS data creation, maintenance, and analysis, with proficiency in Esri software (ArcGIS Server, Enterprise, ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro) and GNSS technologies, combined with a strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency in geospatial data management and map creation.
- Proven experience managing geospatial data and metadata, particularly in compliance with SDSFIE and DoD standards and conduct QA/QC on geospatial data to ensure data quality and accuracy.
- Experienced in developing and delivering GIS training sessions (e.g., webinars, workshops, tutorials) for end-users, providing technical support for geospatial data management, resolving issues related to data access, software, and workflows, and creating geospatial documentation, including SOPs and work instructions, to ensure consistent practices in the English Language.
- Skilled in communicating effectively with military command staff, contractors, and civilians, ensuring clear and concise information exchange across diverse groups and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively, with a passion for location-based problem-solving to support business and mission-critical challenges.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
The following are preferred of the GIS Analyst:
- CompTIA Security+ Certification.
- Knowledge of Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) and DoD IGI&S Standards.
- Hands on experience with data integrations from external sources (CAD, GPS, As-Builts, XLSX) into GIS.
- Real-world experience working within a versioned and/or replicated database.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to geospatial applications.
