We are seeking passionate individuals to be a part of the new Massachusetts Behavioral Health Help Line. As the Behavioral Health Referral Specialist , you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals in navigating the behavioral health system, using your knowledge of social services and insurance systems, and understanding the multitude of factors affecting a person's mental health journey. Key Responsibilities: Handle inbound calls, texts, and chats for individuals who may be in crisis on the MA Behavioral Health Helpline. Conduct safety screenings and assessments to evaluate risk for the caller. Collaboratively develop action plans based on individual needs determined during assessments. Document interactions accurately and within set timeframes. Provide follow-up linkages to ensure individuals receive the necessary services. Work in collaboration with other agencies and organizations to leverage resources effectively. Adhere to all HIPAA, OSHA, and applicable regulations. Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent with at least one year of behavioral health experience or six months of direct crisis experience with screenings and assessments; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications: A BS/BA degree in a mental health or human services field with two years of direct experience in behavioral health services. Previous call center experience. Experience in suicide and crisis line support. Salary and Benefits: The salary range for this position is $24.27/hr to $41.60/hr, depending on experience and qualifications, as well as location within New York and Massachusetts.
