Opportunity Overview We have an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant to join our team at Shady Grove Fertility in Fair Oaks, Virginia . Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:45 AM to 3:45 PM and 1 to 2 weekends and holidays per year in our Fairfax, Virginia office This role provides the opportunity to grow within a nationally respected organization while remaining closely connected to the patients and teams you support every day. In this role, the Medical Assistant will: Perform high volume of phlebotomy Maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations Assist with the clinical care of fertility patients Ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs Provide patient/couple counseling, procedure teaching, communicates physician orders and instructions Provide pre and post op education Perform semen washes and sets up for IUIs Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance Utilize the computer in entering labs and printing labels Check patients in/out, answers phones, schedules appointments, and collects payments Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and patients' families Work independently to assure the program goals are achieved Support and promote excellence in customer service What You'll Bring We're looking for professionals who bring both technical skill and a deep sense of responsibility to the care experience-individuals who thrive in environments where excellence, empathy, and accountability matter. Qualifications and Skills Include: Strong phlebotomy skills required High School diploma; Associates degree preferred Completion of a formal MA program Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment Strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to follow-through, and high degree of comfort with computer applications, accuracy and speed with data entry is required Minimum of one year of prior experience in healthcare and familiarity with medical terminology More important than any single credential, however, is the right person.
