Job Summary We are seeking caring and compassionate individuals for the role of Medical Assistant (MA/CMA). You will assist in patient care across all ages in an ambulatory setting. You will advocate for the patient's needs while collaborating with both the patient and the healthcare team to ensure a comfortable healthcare journey at Sanford. Building strong relationships with your patients and co-workers will be an integral part of your role, along with opportunities for personal and professional growth. Responsibilities Collect subjective and objective health status data from patients or caregivers and communicate findings to the healthcare provider. Implement the patient's plan of care under the direction of the provider. Convey the provider's written instructions for care to the patient or caregiver. Participate in care across the lifespan, addressing preventative care, health maintenance, treatment, and follow-up. Obtain vital signs, prepare patients for examinations, observe and report signs or symptoms, and perform point of care testing. Qualifications Must be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not mandatory. Must be nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA). Acceptable certifications include CMA from AAMA, CCMA from NHA, CMAC from AMCA, or NCMA from NCCT, among others. RMA certification from AMT is also acceptable. For North Dakota applicants: must hold registration as an MAIII through the ND Board of Nursing within four months of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment.
