Position Overview: This full-time role involves working 72 hours per pay period, primarily with rotating 8 or 12-hour shifts, including weekend requirements. On-call hours may be scheduled. New hires will initially work every other weekend, transitioning to every third weekend after one year. This position is centered in our Children's Hospital, covering areas like the pediatric general floor, pediatric ICU, and Neonatal ICU. You'll have the opportunity to train for Children's Charge and AirMed Specialty Team after building experience in the ICU setting. Key Responsibilities: Conduct assessments, therapeutic interventions, and patient education for those with cardiopulmonary and sleep disorders. Implement care according to established interdisciplinary plans, aiming to enhance cardiopulmonary health and overall well-being. Monitor and adjust therapy based on regular assessments and patient needs. Collect and analyze blood and other specimens to assess gas levels and lung capacity. Provide diagnosis results and treatment recommendations derived from patient analyses. Qualifications: A degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited program is required (minimum associate degree as per the National Board for Respiratory Care). Thorough knowledge of respiratory procedures, indications, contraindications, and the equipment used is essential. Active Respiratory Therapy licensure in state(s) of practice is mandatory, along with Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials from the National Board for Respiratory Care. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. Additional site-specific certifications (e.g., Neonatal Resuscitation Program, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support) must be obtained. Why Join Us?
