TITLE: Senior Principal Software Engineer
LOCATION: Washington, D.C. and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. (remote position)
DUTIES: Designs, builds, and presents architecture that will last beyond current initiative on Salesforce Platform/Products. Confirms User Stories are clear and follows Agile development methodology and robust testing regimen to deliver quality code per design. Prepares and deploys solutions by determining and designing system specifications and programming standards. Creates and updates Functional and Technical Design documentation to ensure as-deployed system documentation is current. Designs solutions that consume Salesforce Licenses effectively and limit technical debt on the Salesforce Platform. Performs code reviews of development teams to enforce applicable coding, security, and quality standards. Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions. Protects Amtrak by following Information Security, Application Architecture Standards, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Proactively reviews Salesforce Releases to recommend and provide ongoing maintenance of applications. Assists in the development of user guides and training documentation. Provides technical guidance or system process expertise.
REQUIREMENTS: Must have a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with seven (7) years of progressive, post-bachelors experience as a Senior Principal Software Engineer or any occupation related to Software Development. Alternatively, must have a Master’s degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with four (4) years of progressive, post-masters experience as a Senior Principal Software Engineer or any occupation related to Software Development. Must also have four (4) years of experience: (1) Developing applications on Service Cloud with minimal customization and maximize configuration; (2) Developing Community Cloud applications for external customers with no comprise to security and limit only needed objects and fields exposed externally; (3) Reviewing all aspects of Force.com, Lightning Container, Lightning UX Builder, Lightning Flow including Process Builder and Cloud Flow Designer, Platform Events, Async REST, Sync REST, and Continuation Framework (integration), Salesforce DX (dev hub) in developing robust and scalable solutions on Salesforce Platform; (4) Using Platform App Builder, Platform Developer, Data Architecture and Management Designer, and Integration Architecture domains; and (5) Developing on Salesforce Visualforce, Apex, SOQL/ SOSL, Wave and Einstein Analytics. Must also have one (1) year of experience: (6) Developing Journeys and Email templates in Marketing Cloud to automate Marketing Campaigns; and (7) Developing beacons, ingestions of data, and integration of data into CDP from Personalization (previously Interaction Studio). All experience may be acquired concurrently. Remote work permitted in accordance with standard company policy. All positions require pre-employment background check verification and a pre-employment drug screen.
SALARY: $165,173 to $179,300 per year
