Our client is an established and successful company in the Niagara region. Due to exciting growth, they are adding an Assistant Controller to the team. This is a newly created hybrid position, requiring 4 days onsite work per week.
The Assistant Controller reports to the Controller and assists with the month end close, budgeting/forecasting and the annual audit. In addition, the Assistant Controller is focused on understanding the accounting impact of operational decision-making and working with the Controller to communicate financial impacts to the broader team. Further, the individual in this role should be a "roll up your sleeves" self-starter who can simplify processes and assist with providing structure, controls, and guidelines to assist the accounting team. The Assistant Controller will be instrumental in understanding plant operations (inventory, counts, WIP, processes) and their impact on the financial results. Additionally, this role will own and make cost-accounting and intercompany entries, and be involved in other full cycle accounting entries & reconciliations.
To be considered for the role of Assistant Controller, you must be a CPA in good standing with CPA Ontario (this will be verified during the screening process). You should have 3+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong Excel skills are required. Manufacturing industry experience is a non-negotiable requirement of this role. Candidates without the minimum industry requirements will not be considered for this position.
