Description: New Forests seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Financial Accountant - FP&A as maternity cover for 18 months. Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, this role will be primarily responsible for accounting and reporting. This is a hands-on role, ideal for a professional looking for an exciting challenge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Individual entity and consolidated group monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting for the ANZ, Asia, US and Kenya businesses
- Assist the Group Financial Controller with monthly budget vs actual vs forecast analysis at cost centre, entity, regional and global consolidated level
- Revenue and expenditure analysis for ANZ, Asia, US and Kenya
- Monitor and ensure compliance with financial services licences in ANZ, Asia, US and Kenya
- Assisting the Group Financial Controller with financial analysis and special projects
- Assist in preparation of the CFO report to the Executive team and Board
- Assist in preparation of quarterly board reporting to internal boards
- Assist in the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process
- Managing relationships with stakeholders outside the finance team and reporting to external shareholders
- Completing ad-hoc financial analysis for both internal and external clients
- Liaising with Governance team to complete shareholder queries
- Evaluating, improving and streamlining reporting processes
- Assisting with projects within finance and across the business
- Contributing to the system implementation projects
- Evaluating, improving and automating reporting processes
Qualifications, Experience and Strengths:
- Undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in Accounting/Business or Finance
- Qualified CA or CPA
- Proven experience with the FP&A team within a corporate Finance team
- Thorough understanding of Australian Accounting Standards
- Demonstration of process improvement/re-engineering experience to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Superior attention to detail
- A team player, with strong stakeholder management skills
- Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently, whilst thriving in a team environment
- Planning mindset complemented by organization, prioritization and documentation skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Interest in/knowledge of sustainability and impact investing, well regarded
- Able to demonstrate core finance team capabilities: Client Focus, Cultivates Innovation, Collaborates
