The Role
As the Senior Estimator, you’ll be responsible for compiling estimates and costings for clients and potential clients for design and construct office fitout solutions. This will include assessing material, labour and equipment required and analysing cost comparisons of sub-contractors and suppliers. You’ll play a crucial role on preconstruction, conducting details site visits to assess project requirements and identify potential project risks and associated risk costs.
A day in the life of the Senior Estimator role may include:
- Building and maintaining excellent relationships with colleagues, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
- Site visits to identify and assess building limitations and/or risks to enable accurate pricing.
- Meetings with clients, sales teams, contractors, and suppliers.
- Consulting with design teams to ensure design intentions are met.
- Completing estimates in compliance with client/stakeholder expectations of time and quality.
- Providing subcontractor and supplier selections and recommendations.
- Providing project scopes and budget estimates to delivery teams, and managing estimating handovers.
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Building and Construction, Quantity Surveying or Project Management – Cert IV or higher.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience within construction industry as an Estimator, across fit-out and refurbishment projects.
- Sound understanding of Design & Construct proposals with budget and market tendering experience.
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and services plans and specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
