Job Description
You will assist with the supervision and coordination of the Haematology/Transfusion Department in the Gold Coast University Hospital Laboratory to ensure that all laboratory practices comply with Pathology Queensland requirements in providing an effective and efficient Haematology/Transfusion service to the Gold Coast district health service.
Key Competencies (Role Specific Criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated ability to apply well-developed scientific judgement in the analysis of patient specimens leading to the verification and validation of test results and the provision of Haematology/Transfusion advice to the clinical unit where appropriate.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high level advice to laboratory staff and clients on a broad range of issues pertaining to service delivery and improvement opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to provide scientific services to ensure the maintenance of professional clinical standards and established principles/procedures.
- Demonstrated high level of knowledge, expertise and skill in the day-to-day management of Haematology/Transfusion.
