Process Safety Manager
Based in either Sydney or Melbourne, the DP World Process Safety Manager provides direction, oversight and assurance of Process Safety elements of operations and engineering to ensure that they are aligned with best process safety practice, DP World requirements, contract conditions, legal requirements and implemented HSSE and related plans.
Key Accountabilities
- Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of process safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following all of DP World’s policies as they relate to ethics in business; Demonstrates and articulates what a safe working culture is and means. Applies these principles in the way work is done.
- Develop and maintain Safety Management System (SMS) Procedures to satisfy best practice.
- Provide leadership, vision and strategy to drive consistency in implementing and managing Process Safety Management (PSM) across the business.
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvements of Process Safety Management program and systems.
- Lead the provision of technical assurance and authorisation of Process Safety deliverables.
- Ensure key process safety incidents learnings are shared and improvements embedded across the business.
- Provide Process Safety plant support, contribute to the site’s culture improvement journey, and participate in the site audit program.
- Lead the implementation of Risk control and reduction (capital & non-capital) measures across new automation projects.
- Fulfil a site process safety role across all Oceania sites as Process Safety Specialist and monitor site modifications.
- Lead engagement with senior stakeholders to drive, maintain alignment and integration of Process Safety management.
- Lead Management of Change processes ensuring ongoing integrity, compliance and operational requirements.
- Lead investigation for significant process safety incidents. Ensure the site is operating in compliance with internal policies, standards, and the relevant regulations.
- Coordinate and engage with consultants, contractors, subcontractors and consultants for delivery of studies and monitoring in line with budget.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Minimum a bachelor’s degree in Process / Safety / Mechanical Engineering.
- 5-10+ years’ experience working in high-risk industry.
- Process Safety Management knowledge and experience (min 8 years).
- Track record of engineering design, process controls and project management experiences.
- Experience in process safety management, human factors, design safety, automation, PHA facilitation, fire safety.
- Experience of working on optimisation projects within Port and Terminals industry.
- Experience working in expansion projects with interface of existing operations.
- Good working experience of implementing technical knowledge of process safety procedures, processes and delivering management plans.
- Ability to engage collaboratively and effectively with internal and external teams and associated stakeholders.
- Demonstrated strategic capability.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Demonstrated influencing and persuasive skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage work priorities and deadlines.
