Job Title: Market Analyst – Sustainability
PURPOSE OF POSITION
- The BV-GPC’s Sales & Marketing Excellence (SMEx) department has been set up to support the Group Sales and Marketing team and network business development teams (local country teams) with bids and market information.
- This role is responsible for providing support to the Sustainability Global Business Lines (GBL) on functions related to strategic markets, customer research and analysis.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Research from multiple data sources to obtain relevant information to support the development of market appraisals for new products, understand competitor behavior, follow market trends, and identify innovations & emerging technologies.
Horizon scanning: identifying new product ideas from (but not limited to):
- Voluntary and industry association Codes of Conduct (CoC)
- Other industry initiatives and developments of certification and sustainability schemes.
- Benchmark global and local competitor’s products (market watching)
Product / Service appraisal:
- Provide statistical evidence to create business cases for investment in new products/services
- Analyze results and summarize them to identify potential market opportunities, key elements and trends
- Prepare documents for presentations
- Formulate recommendations, and work with GBL stakeholders or market managers to draw conclusions
Product/Service development:
- Identify potential thought leaders and content experts to help develop products/services
New product Go-To-Market (GTM):
- Provide market segmentation data, and job function/target role identification information to support targeting of sales & marketing effort
- Extraction of data from third-party databases, refining/cleaning to support direct marketing activities
BV local country office (network) research:
- Use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and Business Information Systems (BIS) such as Tableau to data mine for insights and key account information
- Evaluate BV service offerings, country strengths and weaknesses in local markets
- Creation of surveys for internal and external information gathering (primary data), collection of market and company information (secondary data)
- Actively involved in managing various communications
- Coordination with BV-GPC data experts and software teams
- Regular review and update of process documents
