1. Primary responsibilities (a detailed description): Providing reasonable assurance to the Audit Committee
(i) on adequacy of internal control in operation, adding value by way of process improvement, cost optimization, ensuring statues compliances,
(ii) suggest improvements to the functioning of the entity; and
(iii) to strengthen the overall governance mechanism of the entity, including its strategic risk management as well as internal control system.
Process related :
- Planning and Identifying areas, based on Risk parameters at the beginning of the year for systems improvement and strengthening which could be incorporated
- Preparing Audit plan (after considering inputs from Seniors, Statutory Auditors, etc.) and ensuring its approval by Audit Committee
- Co-ordination with the Management on commencement of audit, audit closure, etc.
- Ensuring optimum utilization of the resources of the entity, for example, human resources, physical resources etc.
- Ensuring pre-audit meeting with team members so as to decide audit program, steps to be followed, etc.
- Adhering time frame set for each assignment
- Involving in Audit by way of guiding team, addressing issues, etc. so to ensure smooth flow of audit
- Providing acceptable/practical suggestions (to the extent possible) on observations noted during the course of review
- Reviewing team work
- Getting audit assignment completion on time
- Discussing findings on process gaps, weakness in internal control/process, opportunity of cost saving, non- compliances with statues, etc. with Centre Head, functional Head, CEO and Audit Committee
- Finalizing draft/final report and tracking open issues
- Attending Audit Committee for discussing final audit report, for providing further clarification, if any
2. Secondary responsibilities : Assisting HGIL Group President – Corporate Governance and Development by way of (i) reviewing entities within Group in India, (ii) providing inputs on issues/matters raised by the Promoters, research in the areas of Service tax, income tax, etc. as and when required.
3.Desired Knowledge and skills :
- Minimum qualification is Chartered Accountants
- Having at least 5+years in-depth experience in internal Audit
- Excellent knowledge on Internal Audit Standard and other best practices adopted in the field of internal audit
- Awareness of Accounting standard, Company laws, Direct and Indirect Taxes
- Have great leadership quality to lead time efficiently
- Encouraging and guiding team throughout the assignment
- Excellent written and oral communication including presentation skills
