The Role :
We are currently seeking a skilled Domestic Major Loss Adjuster to join our client’s team. This is a home-based position, requiring regular travel to visit customers across Mid Wales, North Wales, Liverpool, and Chester. To be considered, you must reside in this region and hold a full UK driving licence, as customer visits will be a key part of your role.
You will handle both household and residential commercial claims, providing a customer-focused, cost-effective service from instruction through to completion within agreed financial authority limits. The role may also involve occasional travel across the UK and flexible working, including evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities :
As part of the client’s technical claims function, you will be responsible for managing high-value and complex domestic claims from start to finish.
Claims Management: Manage a portfolio of high-value, complex domestic claims on a cradle-to-grave basis, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
Customer Interaction : Serve as the main contact for policyholders, conducting site visits, assessing damage, and providing clear communication and support.
Damage Assessment : Investigate property damage, work with professionals on repair scopes, and ensure accurate assessments that align with policy terms.
Reporting and Documentation : Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records throughout the claims process.
Negotiation and Settlement : Negotiate fair settlements, manage disputes, and ensure outcomes align with policy coverage and financial limits.
Compliance and Best Practices : Ensure compliance with laws and industry standards, while implementing best practices in claims handling.
Stakeholder Management : Liaise with stakeholders to ensure smooth claims resolution and maintain strong relationships.
Technical Expertise : Apply technical knowledge in construction and insurance to guide complex cases and prevent fraud.
- Extensive experience handling complex home claims, particularly those exceeding £100,000.
- Minimum qualification of Cert CII, with a strong desire to progress to Dip CII (CILA qualifications also considered).
- Deep knowledge of technical insurance principles, including subrogation, underwriting practices, and ABI report writing.
- Understanding of building practices and regulations related to property reinstatements and tendering processes.
- Proven ability to manage claims from start to finish, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and service.
