The Role :
Our client who is a market leading insurer is seeking a Domestic Major Loss Adjuster to join their team, working from home with regular travel across East Scotland and potentially throughout Scotland. To be considered, you must reside in this region and hold a full UK driving licence, as conducting customer visits is an essential part of your role.
You will handle both household and residential commercial claims, providing a customer-focused, cost-effective service from instruction through to completion within agreed financial authority limits. The role also offers flexible working, which may include evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities :
- As a part of the client’s Technical Claims function, you will manage high-value and complex domestic claims from start to finish.
- Oversee a portfolio of complex, high-value domestic claims from start to finish, with a strong emphasis on delivering outstanding customer service.
- Act as the primary liaison for policyholders, performing on-site evaluations, assessing damages, and offering clear, consistent communication and support.
- Conduct thorough investigations of property damage, collaborate with experts on repair requirements, and ensure assessments are precise and within policy guidelines.
- Generate comprehensive reports and maintain meticulous documentation throughout the entire claims process.
- Facilitate fair settlements, address disputes effectively, and ensure outcomes are consistent with policy terms and financial limits.
- Uphold compliance with all relevant laws and industry regulations, while driving the adoption of best practices in claims management.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure efficient claims resolution and foster strong, positive relationships.
- Utilise in-depth knowledge of construction and insurance principles to manage complex claims and identify potential fraud risks.
- Experience handling complex home claims, especially those exceeding £100,000.
- Minimum qualification of Cert CII, with a strong desire to progress to Dip CII (CILA qualifications also considered).
- Deep knowledge of technical insurance principles, including subrogation, underwriting practices, and ABI report writing.
- Understanding of building practices and regulations related to property reinstatements and tendering processes.
- Proven ability to manage claims from start to finish, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and service.
